Association President's Message

Lyndi Cruickshank

Dear fellow members of the Association of Interior REALTORS®

As we begin a new year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the changes we have experienced and look forward to what lies ahead. Change is inevitable, but it is the degree of change that we strive to manage and adapt to. In 2022, our association navigated through another amalgamation, growing the Association of Interior REALTORS®. With the expertise of our exceptional administrative leadership team and board of directors, we became a larger region, welcoming KADREA and KAR members. This brought about more change, more navigation, and more forward action creating the highly professional, resource-driven association we are today.

As we reflect on the past year within our industry and association, we have seen a lot of change. Increasing demand of buyers into our areas and the decreasing supply of inventory continued to reign supreme in our day-to-day working. However, as interest rates rose, a softening of the market began to appear. By the second half of 2022, change came swiftly, as we navigated through it.

In 2023, we are facing new regulatory requirements, including a buyer’s right to rescind their offer and an ambiguous ban on foreign buyers. As a 2,600+ member association, we have increased our resources by hiring new, talented, and valuable staff to assist and advocate on our behalf. Our impact as a professional voice has increased within all levels of government. While reflection can be a gift, new gifts lay ahead in all that is possible in the year before us. Our association is in good hands with our leadership, vision, and collaboration. We will continue
to navigate through change and adapt to the shifting real estate landscape. We will continue to support our members through education, advocacy, and resources. We recognize that the real
estate industry is constantly evolving, and we are committed to keeping our members informed and prepared to navigate through the changes.

I want to thank you for your dedication and commitment to our association and the real estate industry. It has been an honour and privilege to represent our Association and each of you as
your President over the last year.

Wishing you all the best in your year ahead.

Lyndi Cruickshank
